Community involvement
Juliana Playter’s passion for people, community, peace, equality, and kindness, has created a sense of charm to her own brand and publicity. She continues to deepen her involvement within her community, as well as with various charities, and her name is a common trademark tone in the community.

She currently sits as a Board Member INN From The Cold, past Board member of the Elman Campbell Museum and has actively worked closely with/sat on several Boards as well as committees in the community including; Doane House Hospice, Newmarket Group of Artists, The Terry Fox Run-East Gwillimbury as the Public Relations Chair and participates with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She had also maintained her volunteerism as Vice President of Newmarket-Aurora Provincial Liberal Association as well as an avid supporter of Canadian Mental Health Association-York Region, Big Brothers Big Sisters of York Region and assisted on many occasions community donations to the Newmarket Food Pantry as well as a contributor to the Women’s Centre of York Region.
Juli is an Associate Member of the Newmarket Veterans Association, a member of the United Empire Loyalist (York Simcoe Branch), previously sat on the IdeaMarket Advisory Panel at the Newmarket Public Library as well as a member of the Women’s High Tea Association.
Juliana is most heavily involved with INN From The Cold as a Board member and sits on various committees such as the Human Resources Committee, ‘Coldest Night of the Year’ committee and the Premises/Relocation Committee, which began in 2017 to consider an expansion for the current facility to assist with guiding the homeless population in York region to find stability. Juli has been a team committee member in the entire process of the relocation and new build and property for INN From The Cold’s brand new facility (expected to open in 2024). She also participates in community meals and advocates as well as fundraises for the cause.
